Restore The Farmington Community Library

It is so disheartening to hear about the Farmington Community Library. As a former employee, and a fellow librarian in the surrounding area, the deeds and actions of Mr. Largent are repugnant to the community and staff. By not bringing back the full staff, especially, the branch managers, you are doing an incredible disservice to the community that loves their library and the hard-working staff who provides the impeccable customer service and high-level programs that the patrons enjoy there. It is so incredibly disheartening to hear about the Farmington Community Library.

I am appalled at the comments this Man has made on race issues and gender.

Please remove him from the board.

We can do better!

We were residents of Farmington for 8 years and I love the Farmington Library. This is unacceptable.

Libraries are too important for what is going on with the Farmington/Farmington Hills leadership. Let’s hope things can return to serving clientele in a truthful, efficient manner as well as treating the staff in an ethical and fair- minded manner.

I love our local library. have been v. confused during the Covid panic, as to why it has not been open, or at least available, in some form, to the patrons. I am a resident of FH, and pay for these services, which have been denied to me. I understand that changes would need to be made, until the health issue is resolved. But a seemingly endless shut-down was not the way to go. Nor is mistreating our excellent library staff. A well run, OPEN public library is vital to the health of our community. Even if right now, that means limited access to the collections. Please start ordering new materials, as would normally be done, ASAP. And paying the furloughed employees. As well as retaining, or returning, their benefits. Let's get someone in charge who believes in the purpose of the library, and wishes to do all they can to further that purpose.

I support the Farmington Community Library and a toxic-free work area. Please remove Bill Largent from the board.

How disappointing- great library - terrible leader!

Sounds like Mr. Largent is like Trump: divisive and like he really WANTS to destroy he should be protecting and promoting.

Vote out Bill Largent!!!!

It sounds as if the board does not understand their role. Something needs to be done. The Farmington Library has been one of Michigan’s top libraries and should remain there.

We as a family have loved the library and staff since we moved to FH in 92’. The current state of library is a mess! It has been mismanaged and change is necessary. Please remove Largent from his position! Our city, community and tax payers deserve more!

Library needs to be restored as before

As a librarian, I find this unprofessional and unsuitable for a library.

I want MY library and librians back!!! I also want a board that is fully knowledgeable about all the functions that a libray truly serves!

I agree, we in the city of Farmington cherish our library! Please keep this treasure open and a happy place to work and visit!

I live in Farmington, and these actions are unacceptable. We deserve better, and our library staff deserves better.

I knew nothing about this, but as a library patron I have noticed the response of our library to the pandemic has been disorganized and lagging behind other libraries. This is unacceptable.

Let’s get rid of Mr. Largent. Anyone who can’t account for our tax dollars has to go. My blood is boiling right now.
