Watching administrators getting raises after working more hours for less pay as a faculty member has been demoralizing. Being asked to volunteer in the cafeterias because of a failure of administrators to sufficient staff was insulting.
The responsible move is to make us whole by giving us back pay with an accounting for lost wages and interest.

I, like many others, have worked more these past two years than ever before and have done so in an incredibly stressful environment. MSU, we needed, support, not cuts! As an "older" parent of a young kid, the head of a one-income household, and an immigrant, I have experienced and will continue to experience the effect of these unnecessary cuts for many years. MSU admin, we need you to do the right thing now.

The call for "shared sacrifice" in the face of COVID-19 financial challenges was based on trust. If the sacrifice turns out to be unnecessary then trust will be lost if not compensated.

Faculty and academic staff are our greatest asset at the university. I fully endorse this petition. Hopefully a productive dialogue will result in an equitable, collaborative solution.
