Couldn't care less whether or not it becomes a cafeteria again, in fact, I'd like for it to be a quiet study area since we already have the student lounges on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors to chill and talk as much as you want. But the fact that this area is closed at 4:30pm with the ET111 office is kind of dumb. What they need to do is make an entrance outside of the ET111 office so it can remain open until 11pm when the building closes.

I am 100% in agreement with this! A place for cna students to gather without having to face a whole bunch of strangers at MI, we can use the cna wifi, we won't have to go out in the cold to walk across to MI to get something to eat,... so many bonuses.

What is the point of the learning commons if you can't study or make use of the facilities after hours. It's suppose to be like our library, but you don't the QE2 Library closing after business hours. In fact MUN staffs the library to assist students until almost 12 am. I actually don't care about the cafeteria and getting food in our building when the MI caf is right there and provides good service. We just don't have the required space to gather and learn.
We should question the original intention of the learning commons in the first place. When it first opened we were told in our first year SD presentation that, as I said above, was that the commons was to be our library. We already had access to MI's library, but they said that access was ending (not sure if it has ended). So if we had access to MI's library we must have been paying for that access. The learning commons is really a cost savings move and CNA administration is able to say we didn't have a reduction in service. Please comment if I'm wrong as I'm mostly speculating.
