I am very heart broken by the way CPS has done our Dynasty Principal Derrick Jordan. He means so much to these kids and his staff this is going to be such a hard 1st day.

Powell Academy owes its success to the leadership of Dr. Derek Jordan. His leadership style allows teachers to have more autonomy in teaching their students. He always expected more rigor, a higher level of engagement, and academic excellence from all his teachers, students, and the parents. Since Dr. Jordan been at Powell Academy, the school has seen successful growth over the years, under his leadership. Powell Academy ranks as one of the top 10% of all CPS elementary schools. As a neighborhood school, Powell Academy have worked at the same level, and sometimes better than some magnet elementary schools. The leadership of Dr. Derek Jordan is needed at Powell.

Mr. Jordan was a great principal. He help steer me in the right path. With out him and the support of my family I wouldn't be a senior in high school right now.

What more of a successful school does CPS want? Powell should be the model school to follow in educating students. Mr, Jordan is the model of what a great leader of education should look like. Bring him back and let him continue to have the most successful non-selective enrollment school in McDade's area.

The devil is got a hit list out on all our black men and special men like Mr Powell. Men off God, We must start standing up for what is right, by standing up for this great man, who have given his heart and hard work into this great school. So do the right thing and bring this great man back to his leadership at this great school, that he has brought back to life. The children need him, and remember, it's not about you and you it's about the children
