To all students and faculty in the Torrance Unified School District:

Sick of school starting at 10:00AM and ending at 3PM?

Can't change your schedule and are sick of having to waste two hours waiting for school to start?

Did you enjoy being able to have half of the day, instead of the evening?

END SCHOOL AT NOON INSTEAD OF 3:00.

The only reason why the schedule was changed was to synchronize all schools for teacher meetings.

IF THERE IS A DEMAND, WE CAN GET THE SCHEDULE CHANGED BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS, BACK TO A HALF-DAY.

IF YOU ARE A STUDENT OR FACULTY MEMBER AT

Torrance High

West High

North High

South High

THEN YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. SIGN NOW.

Seeing this level of support confirms what I already felt deep down inside. We all know how much our time matters and it is time for the district to finally listen.

I have been hearing from so many of you about how this schedule shift ruined your ability to work or manage family obligations. I am currently compiling all your stories to present to the board because they need to see how this transition actually impacts our daily lives.

I totally agree with you. This directly affected me because I have a zero period and also because I suffer from lack of sleep. Literally, my eyes have turned red from the lack of sleep. I will support this until the end.

It makes no sense for school to start at 10. Our mu=inds are already scheduled to wake up at 6 or 7. so when we do wake up at this time we just sit around and watch tv for few hours which destroyed our minds. So with this schedule of starting at 10, you are encouraging our minds to be destroyed. WOW. Im ashamed.

Obviously, i like early outs, because its unfair for zero period Students anyway, but i think we should alternate, like One month is collaboration, then next month is early out. 2 of my friends Khuong Nguyen and Jordan agreed to me. We Cant stick with a teacher we dont like longer. Lets alternate months

With sports i used to get out at 1 one day and 3 the other but now i get out 3 one day and 5 the other. This means i have 2 hours less each collab day to do Chem cause i love chem, i cant do handles run on tuesdays and i cant dubstep with peter.

Getting out at noon gives more time for students to hang out with their friends and do homework. Plus, it is unfair for the zero period students. They have two hours between zero and first period and are unable to leave school during that time.

Late starts are pissing off everyone because it is unfair to people with zero period and it would be better to have early outs because we have more time to homework and also to do other things that school keeps us from having time for. Schools a pain as it is. Late start is making it worse for everyone. So yea. Change it back. This is unfair and a pain.

With early out, I actually get things done instead of sleep in.
