Gun rights be restored to felons that have a non violent past and has been crime free for 5 years automatically. The second amendment was created before anyone ever modified in later years, and it is in fact the law our forefathers wrote for all citizens and governments to acknowledge. Home protection, and equal rights are proper once a person has served his time. It is unconstitutional to modify the second amendment to each states pleasing and repealing the rights and laws written to create the very foundation of America. Time served should be just that. THIS SHOULD BE A FEDERAL LAW THAT OVERRIDES ALL STATE LEVEL RULES FOR FELON GUN RIGHTS
