Governor Wolf has once again eliminated funding for Tourette Syndrome in his proposed budget for next year! Since 1993, the PA Tourette Syndrome Alliance (PA-TSA) has provided information, education and disability advocacy to individuals with Tourette Syndrome through a grant from the PA Department of Health. This funding helps individuals with this misunderstood neurological condition be supported and accepted.

Tourette Syndrome can be debilitating, but worse is the treatment received by sufferers when those around them do not understand. Funding for Tourette Syndrome continues to make a difference in the lives of children and adults with TS. The support and education provided by the PA Tourette Syndrome Alliance cannot be replaced.

Please sign your name and include a comment if you believe that it is important to educate people about Tourette Syndrome, support the needs of individuals with Tourette Syndrome and provide disability advocacy to help them succeed.Your support will be relayed to our Legislators and Governor Wolf to show them you support this funding! If you would like to donate to our cause please go to our website at www.patsainc.org.

The feedback from those affected by these budget cuts remains deeply moving and underscores the necessity of our efforts. I am currently compiling your stories to present them directly to the Governor as we continue to advocate for the restoration of this essential funding.

When my son's Tourette's came out full force in middle school this organization came in to help me deal with some educators that felt he could "control" it. They were a Godsend to my son and our family.

PA-TSA is an excellent educational resource for health care professionals, adult and children advocates, local and state authorities, and our vast teaching institutions from preschool to college. Please extend funding to ensure equal access to learning in our Commonwealth.

Mother of 43 Year old who has ongoing problems because of Tourette Syndrome. The disorder does not go away because the person becomes an adult. It is life long! PA TSA needs continued funding to help these people.

Please keep this program. They have helped my son tremendously! My school was not educated on T.S. and they came in to a 504 meeting and explained everything. Everyone understood and then the advocate volunteered to educate the staff during an in service for all ts students. Please keep it!

Concerning the funding for PATSA. I can not come up with the words to express how important the existence of PATSA is to the families dealing with Tourette Syndrome. There really is no one else to turn to that understands the impact this disease can have on a family. PATSA is a major player in educating the public to accept and understand children with this condition. PLEASE CONTINUE TO FUND THIS AMAZING ORGANIZATION!!!!!
