It is already unreasonable that ACM gets compensated for publications that are 99 percent if not 100 percent due to volunteers that give their time to run conferences. To make organizations pay so that their employees can volunteer is bad enough. Now to say remove key data makes a mockery of the term open access.

The value of the DL is in the *human* labor (of authors and reviewers).
If you want to improve the DL, then add ways for *humans* to contribute more, for example with carefully curated open/public reviews, comments, and discussions.

As an individual, I subscribe to the ACM Digital Library as part of my annual subscription. Actually, it is what keeps me in the ACM. So in some sense, I have no horse in this race. I don't publish that much and most of what I do ends up on blogs, wikis, or GitHub pages. Meanwhile, the deteriorating operation of ACM.org and the affinity email sending functions is personally more disturbing. And it just got worse. And now I can't properly add my middle initial to this silly form.
