For countless generations, Kever Rachel was a beautiful, humble gravesite, befitting a mother who, according to tradition, cries for her children before the Heavenly Throne. The simplicity of the shrine beckoned Jews to approach and pour out their hearts in prayer.

Today, Kever Rachel is a veritable fortress. Its menacing structure reminds visitors, not of gentle Rachel, but of the murderous Arabs who wish to destroy Israel and exterminate its Jews. The government claims it built this fortress to protect Jewish visitors from Arabs gunmen. But instead of making life more difficult and morbid for Jews, why not make life more difficult and morbid for those shooting at them?

Building a fortress is easier than fighting – surrender is always easier. But with surrender comes loss of dignity and honor, which ill-befits God’s nation. Normal people, after all, don’t flee from enemies that are far weaker than them. Normal people face their enemies and destroy them. If visiting Rachel’s Tomb is not safe, the solution is to make it safe – by eliminating those who target it.

We, the undersigned, call on Prime Minister Netanyahu to tear down the disgraceful walls surrounding Kever Rachel and defeat our enemies once and for all.
