My family has been over sand recreating on cape cod national sea shore since 1970 s , before the National Park Service took over. We have always okayed all rules. There has been a silent effort I have noticed to keep over sand travel off the beaches using the birds as an excuse. It has to stop.

As a family, we had some great vacations on race point beach. It’s too bad that the autobahn society has so much clout that they can close the beach for most of the summer because a of a bird that has been make g a steady comeback. The birds have more respect than us humans. It’s really too bad that this is allowed to happen to a very busy tourist destination.

I grew up every summer camping on race point cape cod. It was the best childhood and the best memories. I have 2 boys and a family of my own now. I can only hope the beach stays open so I can bring them camping at race point to create the same amazing memories.

It’s clear that if enough research is done about the seashore it has an ulterior motive by closing the beach access Corredor and not allowing us passage. K.L

Overreach, under performing, and inactivity describes the work the Seashore does, despite the outreach they’ve recently performed. Not political, but seriously- DO SOMETHING about the abandoned properties- FIX. The ORV situation, and renew access for those inaccessible areas; they’ll all be gone soon anyway

I have enjoyed access from the early 60's with my dad. Then the National Seashore was created, and over time ORV access has been slowly whittled back. I think the traditional uses should be protected, while using other methods to protect the endangered birds, like post and lining off a 100 ft perimeter around any nests with eggs or chicks. Balance of all needs and uses should be the most important criteria when our tax dollars are used to fund it. I disagree with the policy of creating or hoping to protect/create new habitat for an endangered species who flies south in the winter and puts food on the table in Venezuela when they return. Don’t close miles of beach for a pair of birds. It’s ludicrous and we pay for access. Show me the value of closing the beach and the effect it has on the birds !
