the city finally agreed to change the lanes back so we won. honestly i am super relieved this mess is finally getting fixed. thanks to everyone who stuck with it and helped get this done.

To the Boston Transportation Department:
Restore Beacon Street parking and driving lanes.
The redesigned pattern restricts traffic, increases time for turns, makes it harder for cars to see pedestrians and bikes and harder for pedestrians to see cars, allocates 1/6 of the road to bikes which carry a low percentage of travelers. It also transforms an attractive boulevard into a messy slalom course.
In short, the new pattern is ugly, inefficient, and unsafe.

This bike lane addition is extremely dangerous. Every day I take a right turn onto Exeter St from Beacon and in the past 3 weeks I've almost hit/been hit by a cyclist b/c I can not see them in the bike lane b/c of truck/van/car parked in the last spot before the light.
348 beacon this arrangement is very dangerous (for pedestrians, for passengers getting out of cars into bike lanes) and has created unacceptable congestion. Beacon St is an evacuation route -- it is now unsafe and inefficient.
This haphazard adjustments for bikes on the streets needs to be re-analyzed. Both as a biker and a driver, it is dangerous that neither party can see each other thru the parked cars and many accidents will happen when cars make right turns.
The modern reality is full of deliveries from Amazon, Pickups from Uber and grocery drop-off double parking. Beacon Street has residences on both sides, and not enough parking. The bike lane in this location was a mistake.
In addition to the comments already made, people living on Beacon Street who use oil heat have had to have their oil delivery provided by a truck that parks in one of the two travel lanes which makes Beacon Street even slower and more dangerous.
New pattern isn’t working
This is misguided and causes very dangerous, often single lanes for cars. Isn't this an evacuation route???

I am signing this petition to restore Beacon Street parking and driving lines. As a biker, I don't understand the benefit, I will keep using the Esplanade path. As a resident I find it absolutely more dangerous for us as pedestrians.
