The Asian Studies field needs systemic change. It has suffered a lack of diverse leadership -- not just lacking Asians, but lacking all kinds of backgrounds. It also needs to embrace and cultivate diverse students. This problem can only be solved by inclusivity and outreach. There is much work to do on everyone's part.
