We must hold our future accountable. We are not helping them to prepare for the real world without doing so!

School is to prepare children & teenagers with the knowledge and skills to aid them into adulthood. Adulthood requires personal accountability, school should as well.

Students need to be held accountable for the work that is assigned. If turned in late, points should be deducted. Students need consequences for their actions. Setting the foundation in school will help them succeed in life! Please do not implement the proposed grading plan.

I am curious about point #7. Why is proper classroom behavior not considered an important component of accountability?

We need to start practicing old school ways. These Liberals are destroying this nation and our children's way of thinking.

I support the logic behind and the premises of this set of recommendations. Take away accountability in school and students will come face to face with requirements for accountability and responsibility later in life when the consequences of a lack thereof are far more severe.

On behalf of every faculty member in my academic department, PLEASE DO NOT implement the proposed grading plan. It will set students up for failure in college.

Why do we keep dumbing down our educational system. This contributes to the problem we have today with the work ethic or lack of in the workforce.

VB Administration officials seem more interested in their own opinions that have been derived outside of a classroom, and the ideas of field "experts" from other parts of the country, and less interested in what our own teachers & parents are saying our students need. I believe students need a strong foundation of accountability to thrive in college or wherever they continue their education AND to survive job market competition in real life circumstances. I say this as a local mom, as a lecturer that works with students in classrooms across the country, and as a 20 year veteran of business ownership & self-employment. Thank you.

I agree with the recommendations. I am deeply disturbed at the lack of informed consent that these changes have already occurred without input from school board or approval of our school board.

Students need to receive grades showing the mastery of subjects and completion of assignments. Parents need to know what is being taught and how the learning is assessed. Letter grades are important. Summer school and repeating a grade until competent.

Students need life lessons along with academic lessons.
