Did you know that Fairfax County is working on a new zoning plan that could add 40% more density, over 30,000 more people, in the existing Reston Planned Residential Community (PRC)?

We welcome the prospect of new neighbors and businesses, but we need realistic plans and funding for schools, roads, utilities and other infrastructure to be in synch with growth.

Join us in telling the County to STOP the zoning change and STOP new development applications until the County has a realistic plan and funding for roads, schools, parks, utilities and public safety. As called for in the Reston Master Plan: Development must be phased with infrastructure.

If you are concerned about this growth plan you can help by signing the petition below for a Moratorium on all new Reston zoning amendments and County approvals of new development projects, until firm plans for infrastructure and funding are in place.

“We, the undersigned, petition the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors to declare a moratorium on any zoning amendments for Reston and approvals of all new Reston development projects not currently in process until the County has demonstrated a viable plan and funding for the necessary infrastructure to accompany such development, namely, roads, schools, parks, utilities, and public safety.”
