The River Lee system is a tremendous angling resource of national importance. Recent years has seen a sharp decline in stocks of pike, the nations apex fishery predator. With your support this petition will ensure a stock of adult, healthy, wild pike to be restocked into Inniscarra and Carrigadrohid reservoirs in 2012. Such a program would help the species recover and may even see them thrive again. All signatures received will also be part of a petition that will lobby towards the Pike receiving full legal protection against those who view it as a table fish and disrupt the systems natural balance by removing such important keystone species.
