If white people today believe that it was wrong fro white people in the past to enslave black people, then the act of reparation should never be an issue. For these whites--throughout the world--would understand that the blacks--throughout the world (1)labored for free for more than 400 years; (2) enabled whites in the past to own land, money, other valuables that they have past on to today's in the form of inheritance; (3) paid the price for the forbidden acts of those who shed their innocent blood, with their slaved lives, cultures, religions and; (4) continues to receive injustice to date. Thus, reparation, not just for Haitians, but for all black slavery is in order. As it is, all the wars and rumors of wars are but for one thing...Money...So to establish & sustain a people, money matters...ALOT.

Maybe the well-off French government shouldn't have to pay all the money they extorted from Haiti over the years... But they most definitely owe them SOMETHING.

it is a crime to force a poor country to finance a rich one
Haiti needs the powers of the future, China, India and Russia as allies
if France is to be forced to pay to Haiti and several african nations, this country will experience a well deserved blow on national pride

It is immoral act to make a country who fought for their freedom to pay for the recognition of their independence. France, must give the restitution to Haiti. We the Haitian people will always use our voice to make France give us what is belong to us. Free Haiti, The first Black Republic in the world.

$22 billion is just the cash money France has extorted from Haiti. Add to that all the profit extracted from Haiti in minerals and so forth. Then, as in any legal suit, there is the matter of pain and suffering. France--and the United States government and various corporations!--owes billions more. On top of that they are morally required to supply education to Haitians who, if not for the continuing occupation and looting of their land, would have been able to educate their own people. The occupying powers need to do all this and more--and then stay the hell out of Haiti!

I would like to state my position regarding the restitution . I just want to ask the French to think deeply from inside and draw a conclusion their economy and the Haitians Economy.and determine if it is not an embarasment for them to have the courage to hold such sum from the western's hemisphere poorest nation. How should the world describ this action.? May you Citizens of the world come together as one in order to extract that money from France so desperately needed in Haiti.
