Ouray County is remarkable because it has been able to sustain diverse interests – appreciation of its scenic beauty, mining, agriculture, tourism, successful small businesses, abundant wildlife, summer and winter activities, and every thing else that nature in its splendor has been able to present to us. 

For decades, the citizens of Ouray County have risen above personal differences and special interests to preserve the County as “a jewel of the Rockies.” This unity among the diversity of our community has been a source of our past success and is the key to our future accomplishments. 

Therefore, we the undersigned support the proposed Section 9 visual impact regulations that enable most of the county to benefit from the kind of protection our few well-known corridors receive. 

We think this is fair and consistent with the Ouray County Master Plan.
