I, a student, staff, or faculty member of the University of Puget Sound, pledge to do my part in reducing energy use to conserve our planet’s valuable resources and minimize our environmental impacts. I am committed to conserving energy daily by adopting the following behaviors to my normal routine:

  • Replace incandescent bulbs in my desk/floor lamps with CFLs or LEDs
  • Turn off lights when I leave my dorm room, office, classroom, or the restroom
  • Have my computer set to “hibernate” after 20 minutes and my monitor to turn off after 5 minutes
  • Unplug items that are not in use (such as radios, chargers, fans, printers, speakers)
  • Keep windows and exterior doors closed so the heating and cooling systems can work properly
  • Use public transportation, walk, or bike to Puget Sound as often as possible throughout the week
  • Report any malfunctions of the heating, cooling, and lighting systems to Facility Services immediately (contact at: 253.879.3713 or [email protected])

* For students only: Sign this pledge and be entered to win flash prizes as part of the Battle of the Bulbs energy conservation competition! *
