This has been a very inconvenient road closure for far too long. It needs to be repaired.

The damage was done and was evident at least 6 months before the road closed, so it's been at least 15 months of inaction. Not acceptable.

The diversion route is now in poor repair due to so much traffic, often being used by Van's, lorries and farm traffic.
The time that has lapsed isn't acceptable and still there is no start date.

I have seen housing estates built quicker than this is looking likely to be repaired. It is an essential access point to our village for emergency services and the diversion is dangerous.

9 months with no sign of progress and not even tendered to repair. Unbelievable delay. The potholes in the alternative route are beyond anything I have seen. So dangerous and damaging to cars. To have an essential route into our villages for so long is terrifying. What if we need ambulances and fire engines? Distances are already large. This just causes more delay.

The road closure is causing real difficulties for me and others in Henham. It is my route to Saffron Walden and the M11. The Patmore End diversion is dangerous and in poor condition. Closure of the route for 9 months is unacceptable. I agree with the partial solution put forward by others of having a traffic light controlled single lane through the affected section of road

We as Uttlesford Residents pay Essex County Council 71p in every £1 of our rates and they still cannot keep our country roads open.
This particular closure is a disgrace - over 9 months closed and still no definitive opening date is given by ECC

Closing this road for 9 months is totally unacceptable. If you are going to prolong the repair could you at least allow traffic to pass along a single track with traffic lights?

The road being closed for so long is dangerous. The shortcut is too narrow and will lead to an accident.

The alternative route is not acceptable for any length of time. The narrow road through Patmore End is FULL of potholes and the Ugley Green route is too windy and potentially dangerous

The alternative route is falling to bits - potholes everywhere. No passing areas either. The people who live in Patmore End must be enraged with the extra traffic ruining their local very narrow road.

Ridiculous situation. If this was a High Stree it would have been open long ago.

The road to Saffron Walden had a finish date of April 2001. Noone has even looked at it and ridiculous excuses are being made by the council. The roads now have deep cuts on both sides and are very very dangerous. I live in Little Henham which is a cut through from Henham and the road is appalling also. It is 4 miles extra to go to Newport, 4 miles away. The situation is appalling and totally incompetent.

As one of the access roads into and out of Elsenham it must be attended to as a priority

This lack of progress is totally scandalous , you really need to get this sorted out, how hard can it be.
