I am deeply disturbed by the large amount of the American lands owned by the Federal Government. This is a travisty.

Statehood requires this transfer. Hawaii received their transfer in 2009. Where is Wyoming's?

The states can do a much better job of managling their own land than the federal government that is out of touch with the local situations and needs. The states can do a better job and provide employment and safety significantly better than federal management from far away that doesn't have the best interests of the local citizens as a priority.

During the recent federal government shutdown, Utah reopened eight national parks to avoid economic disaster for the state and the communities near those parks that rely on tourism to support its economy. Utah spent $1 million to reopen those parks and had an ROI of $11 million! Utah has proven it can manage public lands better than the Federal government could ever dream of doing. The Federal government needs to honor its promise as stated in the statehood enabling acts it signed when the western states became states. As long as the Federal government "owns" western public lands, those states will continue to struggle to properly fund education for their children and future generations. Now is the time to make the Federal government honor its legal contractual obligations.

Utah can manage their own lands without government interference including the National Parks. National Parks should be a money maker, not a loser.
