Resinstate the words Royal and British into Legion Scotland's everyday name
The words
Royal and British have been removed from everyday name of the Legion in
Scotland causing upset to veterans.
Why is this important? The veterans and present day servicemen and women of our armed forces are
justly proud to have served for all of BRITAIN under her Majesty Queen
Elizabeth.
The words Royal and British are very important to veterans and thousands are
outraged and disgusted that Legion Scotland has dropped them from its everyday
name, especially as this year marks the centenary of the Great War.
The word Royal is not bestowed lightly upon an organisation by Her Majesty and
the veterans believe it should be proudly displaced in the everyday name of RBL
Scotland.
It is also believed that this rebranding is part of a wider agenda under the
SNP-led Scottish Government to eradicate the British identity in Scotland,
despite the silent majority voting strongly to retain their British identity in
the referendum.
We feel this will build barriers between peoples living in the UK and is not in
the interests of any of its constituent parts. And that it goes against the
expressed democratic view of the Scottish people.
Please help us curtail division across these islands by signing the petition calling for Legion Scotland to reinstate the words Royal and British into its everyday name.
