Let's get Cleveland Pride back to what it's supposed to be - a group who celebrates, supports and fights for the LGBTQ population in northeast Ohio!

There is a sincere lack of honesty and transparency in the statement issued by this man. Having spoken with members of city council, it is apparent that the city is more than ready. This is obviously more than a "security" or training issue. It is amazing to me that for months now we have seen information about the after party at his businesses, but nothing of the entertainers for the actual pride event itself. This community has worked so hard for the strides it has made over the last several years building bridges between the city council, the fath communities, the communities of color and each other. For the last 27 years we have been able to come together to celebrate our accomplishments as a community and talk about the challenges that remain. Now, this year, we are turning our backs onvthe youth of this community, our brothers and sisters in recovery, and those financially challenged leaving them only bars and nightclubs with over priced cover charges and dark clubs with music so loud you have to shout in order to talk. I don't see much pride in that, only greed and selfishness. We need to go back to a time of grassroots community and take back our pride!!!!!!

If issues related to security need to be sorted out, then postpone the event until they can be sorted out. But to just outright cancel the event is extremely irresponsible.

As a fortysomething who has lived in five states, this is the first time since I came out that I've had no Pride to go to. Very disappointing. We at least deserve a real explanation, why this isn't happening.

Sounds fishy, to me. Wasn't it also cancelled last year due to weather due to weather? Fear is not the answer, out of respect and memories to what happened in Orlando. New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, and other cities in the U.S had their Pride Celebrations with no major incidents.

I remember when he tried to organize the Gay only pics with other unnamed individuals. You can just guess whose pockets the underlying success truly fell

Would love to know where all the money is? You can't tell me that fundraising had not occurred prior to the event being cancelled.

I waited to see what you had to say on the news. Trump would be proud of your ability to weave around and never actually answer a question. Go back to Flex and play with your boys and leave running an organization to someone who wants the best for the city's community. Your devotion to this city is not only in question sir, but where ARE THE FINANCE STATEMENTS????

This is incredibly disappointing. Using the excuse of the current cultural climate is sickening even. It is giving into fear and the bullies. However, while this is the reason given I have a feeling this is due to misappropriation of funds and poor planning.
