Cardinal Sean Brady must resign. Even if the pope does not ask him to. His refusal to accept his role in the enablement of clerical child abuse is disgusting. Cardinal Brady abuses the survivors further by not admitting his part in the scandal. Saying that the time was different as it happened 35 years ago, is a sham. Child sex abuse was not acceptable then nor now. The children had to sign a silencing agreement to ensure they did not discuss the enquiry into Father Smith. Ensuring that it took 20 years to find him guilty. Cardinal Brady and others did not advise the Gardai of this abusing priest and therefore enabled the shattering of further innocent childrens lives. Cardinal Sean Brady and others are a disgrace to humanity and should be ashamed of themselves.
