How did she ever get past the "smell test" by the NDP's? We don't need a young person with no moral ethics in charge of helping to run our provincial government.

This should be a lesson to everyone that Facebook can and will come back to haunt you in your professional life. Beware.

I fail to see how someone who disrespects the Canadian flag, has no corporate work experience and no political experience, is qualified to have a significant say in the direction the Alberta economy takes. I am thoroughly disgusted by the standards the NDP are willing to accept if they defend this MLA.

Deborah Drever's antics are an absolute disgrace and there is no excusing them, regardless of her age and apparent immaturity. I feel insulted and embarrassed that someone with her morals or lack thereof will be representing the people of Alberta in the legislature. Her disregard for the men and women who sacrifice their lives for our freedom not just abroad but at home as well, is extremely saddening. She is not fit to hold an elected position. Please step down, you are in over your head.

A middle finger gesture is vulgar to whoever it is towards. For Deborah Drever to first record the obscene gesture then to proudly post the vulgar middle finger gesture to the Canadian flag on her facebook page shows what she thinks of Canada. Ms. Drever is unfit to hold an elected government position.

I understand that people use young as an excuse. The real issue that have with Deborah Drever is the picture with the canadian flag. Im young and I do not understand how or why that is funny. I am truly disgusted how people can use young as an excuse. People know right from wrong bottom line. I do not want my tax dollars going to any of her salary or pension.

She was over the age of 18, apparently when she did this. To insult the Canadian Flag, while oppressed countries look to Canadians for help. Canadian soldiers have died fighting under our Maple Leaf Flag. In raising my children, I instilled in them, always think of what you say and do, because it could come back and haunt you in later life. She has to suffer the consequences.

Very few would have voted for this person if they would have seen her making the obscene gesture towards the Canadian flag. She appears inappropriate and perhaps entered the campaign as a bad joke, but for the credibility of the NDP - she ought to be very quickly asked to resign.

Vetting should have eliminated her as a candidate.

Her sociology degree has obviously taught her nothing. Her disrespect of the Canadian flag sums up her ability to lead her riding. This is disgraceful.

These petitions are not harassment as some people are suggesting. This is standing up and demanding that there is change within our government. We want strong, clear, responsible leadership right out the gate instead of excuses and assurances. Been there, done that, tired of it. This individual clearly shows no respect for Canadian values. They say past performance is an indicator of future performance. No more goof'n around!
