It's appalling that Dick Wolf hasn't stepped in to force them to make some kind of creative change. SVU 20 is in the worst time slot, has the worst ratings right now, the worst story lines on the series to date, and the worst press to date. And add the insensitivity to both viewers voicing criticism and actual abuse survivors by the producers in charge, it's jolting and even sickening. Even MH seems to be complacent in it all is what makes it even worse. How she can sit by Ice T on the talk shows and act like this is ok that he doesn't get any major story focus is insane. She should feel bad. But I guess long as you do things in the name of survivors it's all kosher. I appauld and thank her for all she does for victims of rape and abuse but when you see what's going on behind the scenes at SVU, it's almost hypocritical. The first 13 episodes of SVU 19 were a pivotal change from what happened the previous season, which is now occurring in this one.

Should've made this petition about Peter Stone and getting rid of him, probably would garner more signatures! Last season was great, this season to be the so-called 20th, is a dud (unless you are a Stone fan).

While I agree with most everything and everyone on here, Season 19 was pretty good until Philip Winchester showed up and focus shifted to ADA Stone. I don't want "the Nooch" to go, I do think the show could use more 'press' from him as a show runner, plus these storylines need to stop coming from current events. I've understood for years why the L&O shows do this but it takes away the value from telling a true story. You can tell stories about sexual assault/rape, biased crimes, crimes against children/elderly and corruption/scandal without taking it all from the media. The series seems to just 'wing it' as of late, the tone in season 20 takes me back 2 years ago to the tone-deafness and insensitivity of the 18th season where survivors/victims are concerned. That is the sole reason why I am signing, change should be made on SVU BTS due to fan upset, not fans petitioning for someone to lose their job! 2018! Sometimes these 'movements' can go too far!

Bring Warren Leight back!

Some of the reason SVU is going the direction it is, because of the lack of it from Dick Wolf. He's all over his Chicago empire and FBI on CBS. Although he and Warren Leight are developing L&O Hate Crimes, it'll be like L&O True Crime, Rene Balcer is the sole voice on it (if it ever comes back from hiatus), as Warren will be on Hate Crimes. Dick Wolf probably hasn't touched SVU since seasons 15/16 during the Save Benson saga & Chicago X-overs. SVU is running on auto-pilot and waiting to crash. THe writers room needs new fresh blood w/ representation of PoC/LGBT mixed with the old heads that created L&O formula and they need to use that to go back to telling original stories, and stop pulling the headlines for over 70% of the episodes in a season. No pun intended but it's overkill. Hope SVU sees many more seasons, but at this rate. Might as well say goodbye after 20 or 21.

I'm sick of SVU portraying Mexicans/Hispanics/Dominicans in the way Donald Trump calls us as disease-ridden drug dealing/smuggling rapists and killers. Raúl Esparza should've been replaced by a black or Hispanic female. Raúl was capped on in his last 2 seasons and it's not fair to him or the fans. NBC needs to fire these two jokers (Rick Eid should be fired off of Chicago P.D. too) and Mariska needs to step up her EP game or step down! Sick what the show has become.

I love SVU and have seen every episode - many more than once. But so far, season 20 has been a bit disappointing. We need more gripping, dangerous crime stories - not so many ripped from the headlines sagas - and I have to politely disagree. The show with Hirsch and Shawn was inane and tedious. Let's go back to the edgy tales of crime on the NYC streets - with great twists and less emphasis on Olivia's kid. And while Peter Stone is fine, I personally miss Alex Cabot - and it's no coincidence that the episode she did last season was the highest rated of the entire year.

On November 29th Julie, Michael, and Mariska apologized on Twitter after an insensitive LGBT remark was done in a preview scene for 'Alta Knockers'. Their apology seems to be automatic, it lacks empathy because if they were really sorry, they wouldn't have to keep apologizing on social media for blatant tone-deafness and disregard to respect to people of LGBT/PoC communities, especially on a show that's supposed to support them. SVU hasn't been perfect over the years, but in recent seasons it's glaringly obvious they don't care anymore. With Mariska being an executive producer, one would think this wouldn't be occurring on a recurring basis, but it is sadly. I no longer choose to support my once favorite show. I'm not watching anymore until there is a serious overhaul behind the scenes. Good luck to them in the future, if SVU has one.

If none of the people 'in charge' of SVU - Mariska, producers and even the network - care about the show, it's probably just time for them to 'close the book' on SVU. When you have staff members joking about rape while writing lines of hypocrisy on the matter, there is a problem somewhere. It's a cultural and societal one for starters. SVU was the only show you could turn to that were staunch advocates against rape culture and what it stands for. Now I personally am not so sure anymore. What hurts most is Michael Chernuchin is a well respected veteran TV writer/producer, he's one of the people who framed the Law & Order formula to what it is today and to see him basically take a 'happy-go-lucky' approach to a series as serious as SVU, it's very disheartening. Warren Leight was bad with all the personalized storylines flooding everything, but he was spot on when it came to the victims' voice (Neal too, even when they were passing out some wacky weed in the writers room in his last few seasons). Not how I wanted SVU to go out, I don't want it to end at all, but rather it end that become another fixture in today's reality that seems to want to turn the clocks back on civil liberties.

"Something Happened" in the middle of last season and it's been downhill since. We all know what it is.

Sad times for SVU, sad. The 'Fall finale' is Thursday and nobody has heard boo. F**k these producers!

Dislike the character Peter Stone on SVU (better in Chi Justice) and it's something wrong with the character Olivia Benson (what's new ha!), but the last 2 or 3 seasons she's been "off" more than usual. I went and did some research and viewed some Tumblr pages, you'd be surprised how many fans feel the same way. Hope something changes soon, SVU needs to go on past season 20/21! We need this show on television now more than EVER!

I'm signing because Raúl Esparza's exit was handled poorly and did not suit his character at all. Then we get this flop-Chicago Justice lead DA and his character gets more time and stories than the previous 4 ADA characters combined! "Mea Cupla" is one of the worst episodes of SVU ever, I hate seeing Mariska Hargitay's name attached to this garbage fire now. She and the people cast before Philip deserve much better. If SVU is going to be the "Benson-Stone Hour" I'd just as soon as they canceled SVU at the end of this season like the mother ship.

SVU has been through so much change in recent years, but I think the direction it's going now will finally do it in. It's like they want to purposly sabotage the show. It's one thing when it's all about Olivia, always has been. But now Olivia AND Stone? They are pushing the "BenStone" narrative and that is what will cause SVU to fail.

SVU is going down in the ratings. Philip Winchester's Chicago Justice character brings nothing to the table at SVU but his own personal problems. Hate the writers room for going this route. Peter Scanavino's Carisi hasn't been right since Warren Leight left.

The problem? SVU has lost the spark it had in the earlier years (2000-2007) and the spark it had in the "Leight-er" years (2013-2016). They wrote some decent episodes in season 19 until Philip Winchester joined and that's when it seems to have fallen to decline. Not blaming the changes on him, but on the show runner. I've been sick of Olivia Benson storylines since season 10 to be honest but Mariska's been on the show since the beginning. This guy Winchester hasn't been there a whole season and yet he's dominating the stories - that are lackluster now. Plus the network really seems like they are pulling back from SVU as well. NBC promotes "One Chicago" like it's nobody's business. I rarely catch an SVU promo on NBC now. And online, the producers seem to rather use their social media to fight with the fandom. When something is wrong on SVU, Mariska's online silence on it speaks volumes. She went flat during season 18 (Rick Eid, who now runs Chicago P.D.), perked up at the start of season 19, she was all in for Philips arrival but now she's falling quiet off/on this season. She knows fans are displeased, but will she as an executive producer now take any action? Or will the fans (& the show's ratings) continue suffer? I'm signing because I want SVU to change back to when it had it's sparks, not because I want the producers out; however if it takes the producers going out to get the spark back? I say let the chips fall where they may. At the end of the day? It's on Mariska, Dick Wolf, and NBC. Law & Order: Hate Crimes (helmed by Warren Leight) is coming this Spring, something new to look forward to as SVU will fade away if no change is made, and SOON!
