The town end of Rosebery is in desperate need of resident parking, businesses and commuters parking dangerously and illegally. God help us if a fire engine needed access.

Parking in this area is a nightmare when ever I visit family in new street with my children there is never any parking and we often have to park roads away

this would be great for us in New Street too as we can't often part in our road, as people using trains, shopping or working in town stop us parking in our road, or people parking in the turning area (double yellows) at the end meaning we have to reverse all the way back down the toad and into the busy main street which will cause an accident.

Residents parking would be welcomed
1 residents pass per household and 1 visitors pass.
Would reduce parking alot and have it monitored and enforced.

Half free spaces half the spaces are only for an hour... i end up parking a good 5 mins walking distance most of the time.

I am signing this on behalf of my elderly parents who have lived in Salisbury Road for over 25 years and can now not park their car on a daily basis.
They have no access to FB, but know they are really struggling with this issue and it is getting worse

It does need to be debated ANYTHING is better than this. I had residence parking when I lived in Exeter sometimes it was hard to find a space but still a much better chance than here now. Even if some have more cars some don't have any.
I'm happy with at least it being proposed.

Parking has been getting worse every year. I would love permit parking as sometimes its so hard to find a space i end up parking on exeter road overnight and getting up early to move. When dropping my daughter to school leaving at 8.30 there are loads of spaces. 20 mins later and all the spaces are gone due to workers using the colonies as free parking. I know they are technically doing nothing wrong but it's time for a change. Houses turned into flats and multi car families have not helped.

Leafleted every house in the colonies recently prior to the election and spoke to several residents about this . One suggestion is a mixture of residents parking permits and parking meters, as in some parts of Exeter. Then if people who do not live in the area wish to park they have to pay- so they might be better off in the actual car park. Also mooted was a cheap rate for a first car- say £15 a year- the a very expensive rate for all subsequent vehicles -£200.00 or more a year, as some homes have three or four vehicles- especially if one house has been made into flats. All up for discussion - but bring it on ! Not fair on residents as it is.

I don't live in the Colonies, but visit a friend who does. The situation is really bad. If I drive I usually have to park quite a distance away and it is very difficult to turn around in New Street once you have turned in, due to the number of cars rammed in. I would be quite happy to catch the train to visit with my friend in the future, if it would mean less congestion and a chance for residents to park nearer to their own house.

I live in Salisbury Road and it's a nightmare to find parking. Make this residents parking only and then force people who park there for free into paid parking thus creating revenue for Exmouth!

I live here and parking is UNBEARABLE! I'm actually considering moving for this very reason. Permit parking is needed!

Impossible to park where you live and what makes it worse is people park there then go and catch the train
