New parking restrictions have been enforced on the residents on roads surrounding Whiteladies Rd without fair and decent consultation. Some roads have lost up to 50% of their parking in respect to the Whiteladies Rd development scheme and new restrictions. The net effect is less parking in an already difficult parking situation for the residents along with the following points: -The new parking restriction actually promotes car driving rather than cycling to work (can't leave the car due to parking restriction) - reduces the ability of residents to park on streets near their residence - pushes the already difficult parking problem further into the residential areas - unfairly biases workers who work shift patterns - has not taken into account that the houses are mainly flats and therefore have significant car per house ratio - failed to understand the high level of students with cars during term time therefore further increasing demand for parking spaces - Has unfairly biased business V residents when we already have a multi storey car park in Clifton down Shopping Centre and car park at the train station. We as the local residents and tax payers demand fair and reasonable action take place. This means immediate suspension of the residential road parking restriction while correct consultation by post to the residents to allow for organised proper debate and opinion to come up with a logical and workable solution.

Please sign the Petition and we also encourage you to formally complain by email to steven.riley@bristol.gov.uk and by phone on 01179222898 to Steven Pick.

If we the residents don't act, nothing will change!!
