The council just confirmed they are suspending the new restrictions and reopening the consultation process. I am honestly stunned that this worked. You all did the heavy lifting here and I am just so grateful to have been part of it.

I am truly overwhelmed by the rapid response to this issue. It is clear that I am not the only one feeling the frustration of these changes, and every one of you who stepped up has turned this into a real movement.

I won't be able to get to work in the mornings and public transport is shockingly bad!
This has made our street so much worse. We should have been asked before they painted all these lines down.
Used to be able to park outside my place fine. Now I spend 20 mins every night circling the block. Why bother pay council tax if I cant even park on my own road?
TOTAL JOKE. They want us to cycle but the buses are never on time anyway. My van is parked 3 streets away now thanks to this.
Living in a flat meant for one person but with 4 people living here all needing cars is a nightmare now. Cant park anywhere after 6pm and its ridiculous.
It is not just the fact that the parking restrictions are unfair. If you stop off to unload something you can get a ticket, as I did recently. The penalty is severe if you refuse to pay, with treatment of individuals outrageously geared in criminal terms. A key petition needed is to put pressure on the council and Parliament, (the council always use government rules as an excuse to bully and squeeze the community for every penny in every way). There needs to be a massive outcry from everyone on a chosen day, to make this shocking council to take notice. Who really makes these decisions, and what happened to the democratic process? Answer. There is no longer a democratic local process. We need to press for a restoration of this right. There is no reason why people should pay for 24 hr parking. Residents have the right to park outside their own home without having to pay yet another tax. Do we actually know the details of the councils income and expenditure I wonder? Do they really need to introduce these charges? I think not. I will be living in BS2 8NY but happy to give support to all petitions, marches and complaints at council meetings, from the 24th October.

I work as a full time carer for a disabled young man. The new RPZ zones have been marked out outside his home for 4 days and have not been able to park any where near for those days. The existing 12 free parking places have been reduced to 5 permit parking places the rest are lost to double yellow lines? I believe when these parking zones are forcible my client can ask for an essential visitors permit for me, but surely at the loss of 60% of local parking that does not guarantee of parking for all the permit holders in the future.. until the zones and yellow lines appeared last week I had always found local parking . p.wilmott
