Sherman needs cell phone service. If we are without power and need emergency help we have no way of getting help!

I have twice had incidents in bad weather when I was stuck for hours with no cell service! I survived, but that would not always be the case! This is not optional, it is necessary!

Let's get this thing moving now, everyone! We have gone too long without cell service in this town. Tell us about the time cell service could have helped you.

Public safety

It is a public safety issue, to be sure. Cell phone service is also a public utility that is available on the entire east coast, except for our little area. Cell service and the internet are public utilities. A cell tower is no less aesthetic in the landscape than the miles of telephone poles that line the roads in the town. Poles are more familiar but they are not aesthetic. They are tolerated because they are the means to convey a public utility, just like a cell tower should be.

Actually, in response to the most recent Letter to the Editor in The Citizen News, several residents responded that they own land that might meet the criteria and would be interested in construction of a tower on their property. Additionally, we are exploring alternate technologies to address this very significant public safety issue.
