Please empty more thought into these mature neighbourhoods. The charm is being taken away, and Belgravia specifically already has major traffic problems— multi unit plexes are the opposite of what we should be doing here.

Community leagues are about having a say in matters about their communities. Where we live is long established community No say in what and how our community is being affected is wrong. We LIVE here

Irresponsible rezoning changes neighborhoods without consultation with those living there. Calgary developers are buying up lots in Edmonton because Edmonton's zoning laws are way too lax. This must change. Residents must be consulted prior to new builds and listened to by council. New builds must be in character with existing properties.

It is ridiculous in a home-filled neighborhood that an apartment type building can be built where no parking is available and the voices of the people in the neighborhood are not heard. Absolutely ridiculous

I would like city to prevent apartment bui8dlings and residential complexes from being built in our neighborhood. It has becoming increasingly dangerous to find a safe neighborhood to live in. Additionally this will devalue our property in the future.

Bylaw 20001 was very cleverly designed. Once you apply all the 400m from X, and 100m from Y, from nodes, corridors, connectors, zones, regions,..the whole city can be upzoned. This makes it impossible to defeat any upzone proposal. And note that every lot falls in the "Urban Mix" giving upzoning further permission. Creating the RS zone was just a distraction, a trojan horse. Well played Council, well played. Now there are several rental compounds going in next door.

Please change the absolute free-for-all that has become infill development. We need responsible infill that will not ruin our beautiful neighborhoods.

Agreed! City wants “increased density” but with no ceiling. No identified specific goal. This is irresponsible. I agree with responsible and accountable development, not with the current “take the lid off and let the developers run with it” approach.

in new neighbourhoods there is planning of how housing will be built and now the city unilaterally decided to take mature neighbourhoods and let anything be built on single family lots. Spoke with a builder who said he has 40 8-plexes in the works for 2026 and mostly in the westend here, because developers can get the most rent from them. We know this is about developers and keeping them happy, once they realized there was no money in the skinny infills. For our city council to completely ignore the people & try to shame us for wanting to protect traffic flows, infrastructure, nature in mature neighbourhoods

Attractive and sensible development with some densification makes sense - 2 units on a former single dwelling +/- a garage suite. However, extreme shifts - developments of 8-10 units on a former single dwelling lot - with no consideration of parking, access, drainage, and aesthetics are problematic.

Densification makes sense but not the way it's being done.

As a resident of Belgravia I am witnessing the uncontrolled rezoning of beautiful neighbourhoods to add in infills, which are acceptable, but seven storey apartment/condo complexes and that too with no consideration for parking and the resulting traffic congestion when trying to get out of the neighbourhood is absolutely insane.

The current attitude of the City of Edmonton towards infills with no regard for neighborhoods needs to stop.

8 unit dwellings in mature neighborhoods is extremely unfair to adjacent neighbours. It arbitrarily destroys their property values and privacy. People bought homes before this bylaw way passed and it undermines their lives and planning. Extremely obtuse thing to do to hard working edmontonians.

In support of changing the bylaw to not allow multi-unit dwellings on a previously zoned single family lot.

The parking has become a serious concern in my community- an 8 plex with basement suites without garages being built on previous single family home lots!!! Vehicles are being parked in front of homes blocks down from the residence because there is no room! And our streets are not meant for vehicles to be parked on both sides to only allow one direction of traffic to travel through. And now with the train trolly being built, traffic through our residential streets are increasing with people trying to get down town - not to mention when the trolly becomes active, there are no parking permits, so are people taking the trolly going to park their vehicles in our community, too?
