Hi, our names are Meggan Ntaouka and Arzo Noori, and we are working together on a Civic Action Project, and we decided to focus on water safety in Massachusetts. This petition calls for mandatory lead testing of water fountains in all Massachusetts schools to ensure the safety of drinking water for students. Lead exposure poses significant health risks, particularly for children, including developmental delays and cognitive impairments. Implementing this requirement is especially crucial in poorer areas, where outdated infrastructure may increase the likelihood of lead contamination. Ensuring clean, safe drinking water in schools is essential for protecting the health and future of all students, regardless of their socioeconomic status.
