Ballot Title Caption: Amends Charter to Require Election of Commissioners by Geographical District. Question: Shall the Benton County Charter be Amended to Require Benton County Commissioners be Elected by Geographical Districts? Summary: Districts. Benton County Charter Chapter III, Section 7 would be amended for the purpose of electing County Commissioners. Three (3) geographical districts shall be established and one (1) commissioner shall be elected from each geographical district for a four-year term. The districts shall be identified as "District 1 ,""District 2," and "District 3." Districts shall be apportioned in such a manner so that they are generally equally populated. All districts shall be contiguous in land area and reasonably compact. The proposed amendment would replace the Section 7 of the Benton County Charter.
