City Council members should be required to attend Council meetings in person. Burien residents have a right to see our council in action, and to observe the council at work by the open meetings laws. The resolution passed by the Council on March 20 violates the intent of the open meetings act and could insulate the council from residents ultimately leading to all council members calling in.

We request the city council to require the members to attend in person or have it be an excused absence. No more phoning it in.
