Dear MEPI office,

We are writing to you to present this petition that reflects concerns of most MEPI students of all cohorts (as shown in the list of signatures below) .

We think that in order to perform well in our academic and social lives on campus we need to have our physical, and psychological states at a level of convenience that matches our desires, one way to achieve this is to live in a physical environment that does not cause us distress. And while the double rooms that the program registers us for each semester are pleasing for some, they are found to be distressing for many of us, for several reasons. We believe that we should have the option to choose what suits our comfort most in areas that we are capable of controlling such as our physical environment.

We at the same time understand that the MEPI office does not deny us for this right to choose, however we think that it can exert a greater effort in influencing the policy that the office of Residential life follows in regards with room assignment to Lead and MEPI students. We see that this policy unjustifiably gives us a hard time getting single rooms, though we are not requesting they do so without receiving the full payment for the room (which we want to pay for on our personal expenses as an addition to the money allocated for our double rooms from the program).

Therefor our request from the office is mainly an improved and official communication with the Reslife office, in order to assure them that as a program you do not deny us the chance to choose to request a different room as long as we are willing to pay the difference, and an effort to exert pressure towards the change of the policy in order for us to have an equal opportunity with all other residents in choosing our rooms.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
