Hello reader,

Recently, it was announced by Mr. Kshitij Mishra, our DBMS instructor for Term 4 at SST, that students who have hard-coded their answers in the mid-term exam will be awarded zero marks.

I would like to sincerely admit that I did exploit a loophole in the assessment system to get a better score. My reasons were as follows:

  1. The time pressure during the exam
  2. My lack of enough practice with some of the more challenging problems
  3. A loophole in the Scaler Exam platform, which tempted me to take this shortcut

I fully acknowledge that this was a mistake on my part. I assure you that I will not repeat such behavior and will focus on genuinely improving my skills instead of seeking shortcuts.

Through this petition, I am seeking your support. I plan to request our instructor to consider a fairer consequence — such as deducting marks only for the questions where hard-coded answers were used — instead of a complete zero for the entire exam.

If you resonate with this perspective and believe in giving others a chance to learn from their mistakes, I kindly request you to sign this petition.

Thank you for your understanding.
