I would love a sheltered pool so that swimming lessons will not be distrupted as well as leading a healthy lifestyle would not be dependable on the weather. Imagine my children have to miss 2-3 lessons (out of 4!) In a month sometimes due to the weather. And my husband and myself also have to compromise our healthy lifestyle routine because of the weather. If only we have a indoor swimming pool. But if woodlands swimming pool can only afford to have 1/3 of the pool covered, that is better than nothing because at least my husband and i who usually swim at odd hours due to our lifestyle can still get thru the scorching sun. As for my children's swimming lessons which are cancelled cos of wet weather ....i can only hope one day there will be an indoor pool in sg. But at least with the 1/3 shelter, can give them some protection against the harmful sun rays during swimming lessons. Hope you would consider our pleas and put back the shelter. Thank you very much. ☺

Please put back the shelter! We need it very much! My daughter suffered sun burn and fell sick very often due to extreme sun exposure during her class after removal of shelter. This reduce her interest in sport too. With global warming the removal of shelter worries me as the sun exposure may cause other health problem like skin cancer and other skin related diseases. We hope authority can consider our request very seriously as to put back the shelter. The reason of shelter removing due to maintenance issue doesn't make sense to me as the root cause is to solve the maintenance challenge but it should not contribute to the permanent removal of shelter.

Yes please reinstall the pool shade. Reasons : 1. Swimming is one of best exercise for many with joint problem. The shade encourages many to take up swimming without worrying being sunburnt. 2. Spreading out the crowd. Some swimmers prefer to swim in the morning or late morning to avoid the evening crowd. Removing the shade means these group would move to evening swim and create more crowd. 3. Better manage the facilities. The pool is opened from day to night. The shade encourages swimmers to swim during the day and use the facilities. 4. Towards a sports nation. Yes the government is encouraging the nation to take up sports and swimming is one of them. Exposing ourselves and children to hot sun during swimming is certainly a no no. 5. Effect of sun ray. Needless to say, just read the effect of long term sun exposure in some countries. There is high medical cost attached to cancer related to skin. Please install the shade at the woodlands pool. Thank you.

We would like to have the shelter back as it is a very useful to the swimmer when they taking a break @ the pool side. In view of the UV getting higher each year due to the damage ozone layer , it definitely do harm to our young swimmers' skin , hence would like to urge the relevant in charge to put back the shelter as before .
