Since last semester’s BIOL*1090 final exam only covered material from after the first midterm, it would be reasonable and consistent to follow the same structure this semester. Limiting the final to the second half of the course would allow students to focus more deeply on the newly introduced concepts rather than re-studying already-tested material.
