Chico uses this online system to track comments and sign up to speak. It looks like there is significantly more registered opposition than support right now. Please help change that! Link below.

It makes total fiscal sense for our community. A year ago, Colorado surpassed $1 bllion in recreational marijuana sales tax since they legalized it in 2014. Additionally, for those opposed to the current harm reduction program, according to the Journal of Pain (Volume 17, Issue 6, June 2016), cannabis use was associated with 64% lower opioid use.

Charles- So basically potheads get to take precedence over a pandemic. Got it. Don’t try to make it about the PERCEIVED fiscal benefits or the jobs, it is that you just want to toke up and wreck this city with pot shops. We get it. You won’t be getting my signature...ever!

It is legal.
Why should people have to drive to Redding or Sacramento?
Represent the people who elected you or you will be replaced.
It is ridiculous that the City of Chico is essentially encouraging illegal sales.

Getting a legal dispensary here in town Chico would give us a quality product at reasonable prices that is safe and pleasantly smokable

Having local dispensaries will make 6 trips/year to Sacramento unnecessary.

I would much rather spend my money in Chico than driving to Marysville to stock up on edibles for insomnia.

This is a no-brainer. The number of jobs and the amount of money lost from not having this is dumbfounding.
