I converted to Orthodoxy because I want to be part of the true Church of Christ. We must follow the original teachings handed down by the Lord through His disciples. We must not change to satisfy the world. Our focus must be on being faithful to God and his commandments not on compromises with people behaving in ways contrary to Church teaching.

The church is guided by the Holy Spirit. What the church teaches are the truths of God. There will be terrible consequences at every level if we don’t stand strong in the faith now. Secular society is already perverting our children’s minds.

I am currently a catechumen due for Chrismation in the next six months or so. I left the protestant church due to their susceptibility to corruption by modern philosophies. It was my understanding the Orthodox church would be different due to the holy tradition. Unfortunately I have seen lax attitudes towards sexuality among Orthodox leaders who see compromising morality as an effective means of evangelization.

I am in full agreement with the petitioner. Allowing disordered, fully unrepentant sins against the flesh to be validated, excused or put on the same footing as Marriage and the teachings of Scripture and Holy Tradition must not be allowed. A casual glance at both contemporary American society and the recent experience of the Church in Communist regimes will tell you that this "dialogue" will not end with a simple, 'give me an inch' compromise. The Church must NOT comport to the World or its diktats. It must NOT surrender its holy mission to save souls, to preserve Truth and spread the Good News for a mess of pottage; a disdainful, fleeting truce from the powers of this world.

Our Leaders MUST engage the culture as well as speak clearly on the issues of same-dex attraction and gender issues that challenge the teachings of the Cuurch, which to deny is harmful to the soul.

Please, do not allow those who teach falsely lead people astray! The Chrurch's job is salvation of souls, not appeasement of political and social power. Souls are not saved by allowing whatever practice seems right; they are saved by turning away from self and toward Christ.

ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS. All Orthodox clergy shuld make sure such be excommunicated on the spot and declare to the world these are by no means Orthodoxx infact they cld be considered worse than atheists who do the same for they use the name of Orthodoxy.

PLEASE do something!!! It's getting worse and worse due to the whole "not wanting to rock the boat" mindset!! There are SO many souls at stake!! Become the St. Mark of Ephesus and St. John Chrysostom's of today -- not caring what the world says/does, but speaking the TRUTH in love and ensuring ALL follow the CANONS/TEACHINGS of Orthodoxy!!!

There has been alot of ambiguity, soft promotion, or silence. When the laity ask for the ordained to speak out, its sometimes met with more silence or they say there is no need, the teaching doesn't change. Well,this is a crisis that is being ignored to our peril. Very bad things will come of this for our church if there isn't pronounced clarity and soon.
