Not giving the KCPS provisional accreditation is like me working for you today, not getting paid and you stating to me that I may pay you depending upon how well you perform tomorrow. Provisional accreditation was not just earned but earned well beyond the points needed. Only fourteen points from full accreditation is certainly a reason to celebrate. Remember, your decision is not just about students in the KCPS but, the surrounding districts will feel the crunch as well. Commissioner, you are breaking the heart of an entire school community, yours have to be aching as well.

Commissioner Nicastro is working for big business, not the education system. She is attempting to destroy the public school system.

Stop this travesty!

Her agenda is not about what's best for the children in Kansas City.

We need authentic leaders in our schools who have experience working with children.

Destroying public schools but trying to turn everything to "for profit" charters is NOT in the best interest of the children. The children and parents deserve a representative whose interest lie with them NOT how much money she will make from private entities. I call for an immediate resignation of Dr. Chris Nicastro. NO charters, NO TFA, NO high stakes testing, NO common core--we want our children to have qualified, certified teachers and public schools that are NOT run by For Profit entities like Gates Foundation, Rhee, Koch Foundation, Walton Foundation and more.

The children who are enrolled in the kcps district deserves a Commissioner of Education who are concern about their education as a hole. Dr. Nicastro does not care about the children in the district. Please have her resign today!

Nicastro seems to be working toward the goal of privatizing public education via charter and for-profit educational companies.

Quit sending public tax dollars to private business.

Any person holding an official position must be trustworthy. These kids need someone who will be an advocate for them.

Nicastro has demonstrated she doesn't have the best interests of the students in Kansas City in mind. It's time for her to step down and save the state the trouble of removing her.
