Request for Urgent Review and Cancellation of FBISE Examinations in UAE
Dear Honourable Minister and Respected Officials,
I hope this message finds you well.
I am writing on behalf of Pakistani students and families across the UAE who are currently preparing for their SSC and HSSC examinations under the Federal Board (FBISE). We fully understand the importance of these exams, but given the current regional situation, we would like to respectfully request a reconsideration of the plan to conduct them as scheduled in the UAE.
Recent decisions by major international examination bodies highlight a growing concern for student safety and well-being. For example, Cambridge International has cancelled its June 2026 examination series in the UAE and shifted to a portfolio-based assessment system. Similarly, the International Baccalaureate has introduced alternative grading methods to ensure students are not unfairly affected during this period.
We also acknowledge that FBISE has already postponed SSC examinations, which shows an understanding of the seriousness of the situation. However, conducting both SSC and HSSC exams within a shortened timeframe may place significant academic and emotional pressure on students, potentially affecting their performance and overall well-being.
In light of these circumstances, we kindly request the Ministry to consider the following:
• Engaging with FBISE to explore the possibility of cancelling the SSC and HSSC examination session in the UAE
• Considering alternative assessment methods, such as predicted grades or portfolio-based evaluations
• Providing guidance that prioritises student safety, mental health, and fairness during this challenging time
We have full confidence in the Ministry’s commitment to supporting students and making decisions that are both fair and compassionate.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
