It is wonderful to feel and see the continued focus of these local business owners who really want to ensure our community is offered more local food, artisans and entertainment in our downtown core.
A Thursday Market in tMarine Park will certainly bring us living here to shop more locally without having to cross bridge.
It will also create a more regular destination for tourists to come to Comox in the summer.
Have heard from visiting people not enough to do here.
If you look to Salt Spring Island and Hornby Island and see how their weekly markets have become a driving force of what brings people to their area, one can realize the potential here. PArticularly the boating community.
For those on boats it is very hard to access fresh local produce unless they can arrive at a marina that offers this. As avid sailors, local fresh food markets are what helps us determine our sailing route and timeline. We have met time and again other boaters who will make that a priority.
Be great to see this new Council support this proposal with leadership and vision and provide that to staff to make it happen this next year !
We as citizens, Comox business owners, want it!

An evening market is a nice addition to summer evenings, gathering people together and supporting local growers, and hopefully some crafts people, in bringing their goods to market.
