Dear Rector. Prof. Dr. Zafer Utlu,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express serious concerns about the recent grading practices in Professor Mustafa Akan's class and to request a comprehensive review of these practices. The grades from the recent midterm examination have had a detrimental impact on the academic progress and future prospects of numerous students.

It has come to our attention that an alarming number of students, received failing grades in the aforementioned examination. This situation is particularly distressing for those students who are repeating the course for the third time, as well as for those who are now unable to graduate due to the adverse effects of these grades on their academic standing.

In light of these concerns, we respectfully request the following actions from Haliç University:

  • Reevaluate the grades of affected students to ensure a fair and just assessment, taking into consideration their efforts and academic capabilities.
  • Provide additional support and resources, such as tutoring or supplementary materials, to assist affected students in catching up and succeeding in the course.
  • Consider the possibility of assigning a different professor to the course to ensure a more conducive learning environment and a fair chance at success for all students.

While we understand the importance of academic rigor, we believe that fairness and equity should be central to the educational experience. We trust that Haliç University is committed to creating an environment that fosters the success and well-being of its students.

Thank you for your attention to this matter, and we look forward to a timely and positive resolution that allows affected students to continue their academic journeys without unnecessary hardship.

Sincerely.
