Request for Parole Hearing and Consideration for [Inmate’s Derek Lee Daigle Sr, #451360

To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing this letter on behalf of my son, Derek. Over the years of his incarceration, I have witnessed a remarkable transformation in him—emotionally, spiritually, and in character. Derek has taken full responsibility for his past actions, and through time, reflection, and faith, he has grown into a deeply changed man.
During his time in prison, Derek has developed a strong relationship with Christ, which has brought about a genuine shift in his heart and his outlook on life. What began as a journey of consequence has evolved into one of redemption and maturity. No longer the troubled young man he once was, Derek is now a thoughtful and responsible middle-aged adult. He has maintained good behavior throughout his sentence and has consistently worked to better himself.
His mother and I are asking the Board to consider granting him parole. Derek has served the time for his crime, and we truly believe he has earned the opportunity for a second chance. He has made the decision not to return to his hometown of Lake Charles upon release, with the hope that this brings peace and reassurance to his victim.
We respectfully request that you give thoughtful consideration to Derek’s release. He has demonstrated sincere change and poses no threat to society. We believe he is ready to move forward as a contributing, law-abiding citizen.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Kurt and Dana Daigle
