Request For Organization & Safety Issues To Be Addressed At BTS Wings Tour
Dear Powerhouse -
First of all, thank you for bringing BTS to the US so we can enjoy their Wings tour here. We're sincerely grateful to see them.
This petition is based from the fans' perspective of attending many tours and shows at different venues all over the US and asks that more effort be put into the organization of the GA lines and the safety of the fans with GA tickets when entering the venue.
While it's almost never an issue at smaller venues - it's been noted that the Prudential Center in particular does not enforce guest safety when entering the GA entrance. They don't have an organized method of systematically allowing people to get through security in an orderly fashion and this is when the mob mentality goes into effect and the ensuing free-for-all becomes really dangerous.
Specific examples are EXO and Kcon. Promoter staff go through huge efforts to organize the lines, but then it all breaks apart because the Pru Center staff don't enforce security. At the Staples Center and the Honda Center - ticket holders are systematically placed into short lines at each security station periodically - controlling the flow of people entering at the same time. Once a few people are let in, a few more people are added to that line - similar to putting people onto rides at an amusement park. It keeps things calm and orderly and keeps running, pushing and shoving from happening. Allstate Arena is still an unknown factor, but hopefully bringing this issue to light will help prevent safety issues from happening there in advance.
*** recent video of fans running into the venue in Chile have also been noted***
We'd also like to request to have a numbered wristband system to be put in place once fans are separated into the separate P1 and P2 lines. For the BIGBANG MADE tour, numbered wristbands were given in line number order to help ensure that a calm and orderly entry would happen for all three GA groups. Since some GA tickets came with a soundcheck, this also kept fans organized once the soundcheck ended and they were led back out to the concourse to wait till they were let back in for the concert. People stayed calm knowing that their place in line would be maintained by the numbered wristbands and made it easy for the Live Nation staff to get the soundcheck fans wherever they needed them to go. Though not really utilized in Las Vegas - at Anaheim, NJ and Toronto it was really evident that the system was effective. It was the only major recent kpop event held at the Pru Center where fans were not stampeded while entering the venue.
Thank you for taking the time to read our concerns. We hope that Powerhouse knows we're asking this sincerely and genuinely with the welfare of all the collective GA ticket holders in mind.
