Request for Neighborhood Lighting and Safety Improvements
Dear Braesael Management Team,
We are writing on behalf of the neighborhood to request consideration of several safety and infrastructure improvements that would benefit the community as a whole.
Currently, all neighborhood mailboxes are located in a centralized area that is not adequately lit and is not protected from inclement weather. During early morning and evening hours, visibility in this area is very limited, creating safety concerns for residents retrieving their mail. Insufficient lighting increases the risk of trips, falls, and personal security concerns, particularly for children, elderly residents, and those accessing the mailboxes after dark.
In addition, the lack of a protective covering exposes residents and mail to rain, snow, and other weather conditions. This creates inconvenience for homeowners and may also contribute to long-term wear and deterioration of the mailbox structures. Installing a permanent covering would improve usability, protect shared property, and enhance the overall experience for residents year-round.
We would also like to address the main neighborhood entrance signage. The entrance sign is currently not illuminated and can be easily missed at night or during periods of poor visibility. This presents challenges for visitors, delivery drivers, and emergency responders who rely on clearly visible signage to quickly locate the neighborhood. Permanent lighting at the entrance would improve visibility, navigation, and overall safety while also enhancing curb appeal.
Installing permanent lighting at both the mailbox area and the main entrance would be a practical, long-term solution that improves safety, accessibility, and the overall appearance of the community. These improvements would reflect a continued commitment to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained neighborhood for all residents.
Thank you for your time and consideration. We appreciate your management and support of the community and look forward to your response regarding these proposed improvements.
Sincerely,
Concerned Residents of the Basildon Neighborhood
