IU alum 08, 11. IU is great because of its inclusiveness, and because it will stand with its students in the face of unconstitutional and inhumane actions against them.

Esteemed colleagues, It has been with great pride that I read President McRobbie's and Provost Robel's statements to the IU community. I find the sentiments they express in keeping with the highest of intellectual traditions, and indeed, with the principles that I hold dear in both individuals and institutions. The measures outlined here are further critical steps that IU can take to concretely address the concerns of our international student community. It is my hope that our administrators will continue to support measures that protect vulnerable populations on our campus and further clarify IU's opposition to any policy that would seek to do them harm. In this spirit, I urge administrators to please carefully consider the points outlined here and implement them as is best fitting our intellectual and moral standards. Sincerely from the field, Bryan Rupert PhD Candidate Department of Anthropology
