Please, CEC, consider the overall benefits of community growing projects and the consequent savings to CEC's budget - I truly believe CEC can afford NOT to encourage such community projects. Charging anything above a peppercorn rent is truly self-defeating.

As Operations Manager of two Trussell Trust foodbanks in the city we see the day to day result of citizens who, for many reasons, have been unable to provide food for themselves. We need to find long-term solutions to food poverty as we support those in short-term crisis. This seems like a sensible long-term solution for self sufficiency even though times are tough for Council budgets.

shocking that the council dont offer concessionary rates for community groups wishing to develop land for food, this is shocking and shows all they are lookng for is land to seel off to property developers, not good enough we should be promoting food growing not depromoting it

CEC should be doing all it can to encourage Grow Your Own projects - they help people learn about food, what is nutritious and lead to a better, more varied and healthier diet.

i live in west pilton brae the community garden should be free to the group as it was waste ground it is.now.built.on
