Request for Cancellation or Alternative Assessment for IB May 2026 Exams in the Middle East

I don’t want to do more work am already stressed

I have seen places very close to me being bombed right from my balcony, have been constantly hearing missile and fighter jets flying overhead, and getting stressed and paranoid over the slightest noises. Studying for an exam, much less to say the stressful IB exam, is not doing me any good. Please prioritise student wellbeing during times like these!!!

I think it would be unfair to do exams after missing so much school :(

The war is causing of academic stress for the students and it might cause depression and anxiety

I survived a big major injury that was life threatening and Im still recovering and I need couple months or even years I recover each month better but the ib exams are so soon and they’re pressuring my health even more

Students are trying their best under very stressful conditions. We hope the IB considers our wellbeing and provides a fair alternative assessment.

As a student, I believe current circumstances are affecting our ability to perform at our true academic level. We kindly ask for fairness and consideration through alternative assessment options.

Im from jordan, speaking on behalf of all the students across the region. We shouldnt even be doing this petition you should cancel simply because of everything you see on the news. I can not speak on the situation exactly in the gulf but its pretty clear on the news that they are getting bombed everyday. Us in jordan, we hear sirens we hear explosions as we are litterally neighbors with Palestine. Some people were told to evacuate from different countries were living in fear and stress BUT HAVE MORE STRESS BECAUSE OF THESE EXAMS THAT SHOULD NOT BE A PRIORITY AT ALL! CANCEL THESE EXAMS IT SHOULD NOT BE UP TO DEBATE

This time is not like any other time Students are under extreme stress not being able to go out or go to school and hearing all the news and the situation they could not even focus on studying

we cant focus in our exams bcz of the sirens and the bombs. the stress is too much

I am in full endorsement of this. I live close to the airport and the situation is too impactful to carry on with these exams.

Due to the circumstances that we are facing in Qatar it would be rarely unfair to make us sit for IB exams since we would be stressed out and have been worrying about what will happen next
