Request for Cancellation or Alternative Assessment for IB May 2026 Exams in the Middle East

lebanon has been struggling for so long and we are so mentally tired . i cant focus when bomb are destroying my beloved country. please spare the stress because we are mentally unstable and the road are not safe to go to our examination center. please dont risk our lifes for the sake of the exams.

My daughter was already experiencing significant exam-related stress before the conflict began. Ongoing disruptions at school and home, combined with frequent missile alerts, have placed additional and unreasonable pressure on her during her final year. I hope the IB will consider a fair alternative to support students across the Middle East.

Considering the mental state of students in the Conflict affected Middle East , it is quite unfair to go ahead with exams without considering the well being of students. Choosing non exam root is the best option at this point as students won’t be able to do as per their best ability due to anxiety , fear and instability in the region .

The stressful situation middle east at the moment is not giving enough strength and peace to the student to concentrate and focus on study. Multiple alerts during days and nights for almost 20 days now, are exhausting. Do not allow to have a peaceful rest in order to recharge energies to proactively continue studies. Situation in UAE is not de escalating right now and students have almost lost 1 months school due to the current situation.

The situation is getting worse everyday, as someone from Iraq the stress of war and exams are eating me alive.

Please be compassionate about the reality our brothers and sisters live in.

As an IB student in the Middle East, I support this petition because current regional instability significantly affects our ability to prepare fairly for the May 2026 exams

A lot of students weren’t really able to study or to do anything the past 3 weeks even tho our final exams are soon . We didn’t have the opportunity to study or to prepare properly for the upcoming exams because of the daily appearing bombs and so on . Me and a lot of other students would appreciate if we get more time to prepare ourselves .
