Request for Cancellation or Alternative Assessment for IB May 2026 Exams in the Middle East

Please. Learning conditions as of this moment are very concerning. We have not even finished the content in most subjects, let alone started revising. These are trying times PLEASE. Imagine we are in the exam hall and BOOM. Not very 'exam conditions'.

am signing this petition because it is unfair to expect students in the Middle East to sit IB exams under the current conditions of conflict and instability. Many are facing serious disruptions, safety risks, and emotional stress that make proper preparation impossible. The IB should take these circumstances into account and ensure that affected students are treated with fairness and compassion. Adjusting or canceling exams in these regions is not just reasonable, it is necessary.

ib is a program that focuses on inclusivity and accesability and considering the capacity to learn in certin circumstances

As a current ib student, I understand and empathize the gravity of this. Ib is a program based in international education and consciousness of all possible perspectives. Not cancelling these exams due to the ongoing conflicts in the middle east is hypocritical to say the least.

This is especially needed. Demanding an evaluation of our academic skills during these times are unacceptable and will not provide a proper or accurate measure at all. This barely reflects our capabilities. Although in this petition you mentioned the Middle East but left out some countries which also have IB schools in them. I assume that they, despite not being mentioned by name, are also included?

As an IB graduate myself, I cant imagine the turmoil these students must be feeling at this time. IB exams need constant and adaptable study sessions, not distant learning and what they are currently doing. Additionally, theres no way a single person can study knowing there is a war happening outside their window. It doesn't make any sense.
